Cars weren’t really the topic for project manager Max Pohlmann. The 280 was entirely unexpected. His uncle, who always took him on trips to Hamburg as a child, died unexpectedly and much too young in 2010. He left him the car because he loved it so much. Max is now rediscovering himself in a family heirloom full of stories. Images of brick halls in the harbour in his head. Sounds of cobblestones under the wheels in his ears. He says “yes” to an historic coupé. Yellow and white boot sills. Blue gates. Rumbling cobblestones. We are driving with Max to one of the places that he got to know as a child from the rear seat.
